The Chloramine Special five stage systems are designed for tap water containing chloramines. Chloramine is a combination of chlorine and ammonia, added to tap water as a disinfectant. Although most public water systems in the United States use chlorine as a disinfectant, the use of chloramine is growing. The units include the most popular set of accessories for optimum performance and operation. Units come assembled, and include: clear housings, 1-micron poly sediment filter; chloramine-splitting catalytic carbon filter; 0.5-micron, 20,000 gallon carbon block; RO membrane, pressure gauge, housing wrench, drain saddle, 6 feet of blue, yellow, and white tubing for the supply water, drain, and purified water; and quick connect fittings. These units also include a filled, refillable semiconductor grade DI resin cartridge. The refillable cartridge provides an economical option for replacing the resin.
We offer an expansive range of options and add-ons, some of which are described below and can be selected above. Not sure what options would be best in your situation? Need an extra stage? All our water treatment systems are built in our shop and can be customized. Please give us a call - we have a specialist waiting to talk with you!
RODI Capacity Depending in large part upon which RO membrane is used, RODI systems are configured to produce a specific number of gallons per day. There are several things to consider when selecting the capacity best for your situation. If we consider a 75 gallon per day system for example, a bit of arithmetic shows the system will produce 3 gallons per hour. So although you may never need to produce 75 gallons of RODI water in a day, most users will find a "gallons per hour capacity" more practical.
24 GPD = 1 GPH; 36 GPD = 1.5 GPH; 50 GPD = 2.1 GPH; 75 GPD = 3.1 GPH; 100 GPD = 4.2 GPH; 150 GPD = 6.3 GPH
These capacities will be met (+20%), if the feedwater meets factory specifications. Also consider how well the various RO membranes clean the feedwater:
ASOV Kit Auto Shut Off Valves stop the flow of concentrate (a.k.a "waste water") when the flow of purified water is stopped by a separate valve (for example, a float valve). This Kit includes a check valve and ASOV (both plumbed in for you), and a float valve with built in bulkhead set to accept 1/4" tubing.
Chloramine Carbon Stage Chloramine removal is facilitated by additional contact time with carbon. These Chloramine Special systems include two very high quality carbon stages. Both options include a 0.5 micron, 20,000 gallon carbon block, and your choice of a second carbon stage. Refillable Catalytic GAC filters are more economical, and require thoroughal rinsing before use. Like most high quality carbon blocks, Chloraguard Blocks rinse up very quickly.
Flush Valve Routine use of a flush valve can help extend the useful life of the RO membrane. Options include a manual valve the user should open occasionally; or an automatic valve powered by a transformer (included) that opens once per hour for 18 seconds - giving you one less thing to remember to do!
DI Bypass Many users wish to access their RO water before it reaches the DI stage. With the simple opening of our unique 3-way valve, RO water exits the system without passing through the DI resin. Say goodbye to shortened DI resin life due to TDS creep! Provides a convenient source of RO drinking water, and facilitates sampling the TDS of RO water with a handheld TDS meter. Includes 6 feet of 1/4" tubing.
TDS Meter These meters are an important tool in assessing the purity of your treated water. Both inline and handheld meters are available. See our Meters and Controllers for detailed descriptions of each.
Feedwater Supply Fitting Feedwater Fittings are used to tap into your plumbing to supply water to the system. Depending upon where in your home or facility you install the system, we have a fitting that will work for you!

I bought this because my son Ben has ADHD. He does Neurofeedback weekly, and the place he goes to also has a nutritionist. I was told to cut out gluten, sugars, and buy a good reverse osmosis system. My son also had high (6 on a scale of 1-10) blood lead levels last year. I tracked that down to our home water. Another thing I noted this last summer, at times, was exceptionally smelly water.
Long story short, I decided to remove as close to absolutely everything as I could manage, then get a Cirqua HP800 formulation cartridge to add back some taste for drinking. In my family's case, having dead water is better than taking a chance on leaving some of the natural impurities in.
My wife refused to drink tap water, even after a basic faucet filter attachment. She said it made her stomach hurt... She happily reported the RO/DI system has "Water just like we used to have when I was a girl!!", which is to say the small town her and I grew up in had genuinely good water up till I was in high school and they "upgraded" the city water infrastructure.
Wife happy = :)
Daughter happy = :)
Son happy = :) !!
Dogs happy ... ;)
To be honest, I am VERY happy I finally bought a high quality water filtration system!!
Buckeye was helpful when I called, answered my questions in a concise manner, and he did not try to upsell me at any point. Answers were to the point and helpful, just like a pro who is interested in the topic of water quality solutions!

We looked around at different RODI water systems for our coral reef tank. I made a call to Buckeye Hydro, and they (Russ) explained all of the ins and outs of water filtration. They never tried to oversell me - instead they told me what I needed and what I didn't need.
Everything shipped out immediately (pretty much same day as I paid). It arrived in a few days, and had complete - easy to read instructions and all of the parts were there and ready to go.
We now can make salt water for our aquariums anytime we want too which alleviates the need to tote around huge containers of water to and from the store.
Over all excellent service and would recommend to all!
