Product Description

These high quality switches handle heavy amperage and are suitable for use with most pumps.  The switch is
available either as normally closed (circuit is complete when the flofloat-switch-configuration2.pngat is hanging down, a.k.a. "Pump Up"), or normally open (circuit is complete when the float is elevated, a.k.a. "Pump Down").

Pump down (NO) switches are commonly used to control sump pumps where the pump is energized when the water level is high.  Pump up (NC) switches are commonly used to control a circuit energized to fill a tank - for example an RO or RODI water storage tank.

The float cable is intended to be attached to a vertical pipe/pole/strut with a band clamp.  As an option when no pipe/pole/strut is available, the float can be installed with a cable weight serving as the pivot point.  Buckeye's cable weight includes a poly gripper that locks onto the cable without the use of tools.  No exposed metal and super convenient!

Our tether float switches are available with three plug options:

  • No plug - the insulated wire leads inside the cable are intended to be wired into other system components inside a junction box.
  • 110 VAC Piggyback Plug - No junction boxes or complicated electrical connections are needed.  Simply plug the switch into a standard American-style 110 VAC outlet, and plug your pump into the piggyback plug.  You're done - quick and easy!
  • 220 VAC Piggyback Plug - No junction boxes or complicated electrical connections are needed.  Simply plug the switch into a 220 VAC outlet, and plug your pump into the piggyback plug.  You're done - quick and easy!
